My name is Kaitlyn Keegan and I am a pediatric oncology nurse. In 2024, I lace up my running shoes with a purpose beyond personal achievement as I prepare to tackle the NYC Marathon. Partnering with a local charity, the Ellie Ruby Foundation, I’ve committed myself to raising awareness and funds for a cause that deeply resonates with me. 

The Ellie Ruby Foundation helps families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing emotional support and financial assistance, raising awareness, and funding research.

I am running to support Ellie, who is a brain cancer survivor, and for all the kids and families I have had the pleasure of taking care of at the Goryeb Children’s Center in Morristown. I owe them all for making me the nurse and person I am today. 

Every mile I run is not just a physical feat but a symbol of my dedication to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. As I navigate the iconic streets of New York City, fueled by the support of both fellow runners and spectators, I carry with me the spirit of generosity and the belief that together, we can create positive change for those affected by pediatric cancer.
