Our
Mission
Our Mission
is to bring smiles and support to families battling pediatric cancer
Raise Awareness
The primary goal of our foundation is to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, particularly central nervous system cancers such as brain cancer. Our programming - which includes weekly communal baking, walkathons, Sunday smiles, and gala events - is intended to increase consciousness of the prevalence of pediatric cancer and the severity of the impact a diagnosis has on the entire family
Fund Research
Brain tumors are the most fatal pediatric cancer. Rare pediatric brain tumors require innovations of tailored therapies. We partner with leaders in the medical field focused on improving outcomes through translational research.
give recognition
Pediatric medical teams are partners in a family's fight against cancer. The nursing team, in particular, plays a critical, yet often overlooked role throughout a patients treatment. We fund an annual grant in recognition of one nurse that has transformed a patient experience by elevating an already high standard of care.
emotional support
Pediatric cancer impacts the entire family. Focusing on the care and needs of one child limits a parent's ability to be as attentive to their other children when they too need emotional support. We pair families with psychological counselors to help families navigate through this difficult period and cover out-of-pocket costs for services required.
financial assistance
The out of pocket medical costs associated with a cancer diagnosis alone can be too much to bear. This doesn't consider the implications of the time commitment required to support a child through their treatment which often necessitates a parent to take an extended leave-of-absence from work. Parents should be able to fully focus on their child's health without the added pressures of financial security. We provide financial assistance to families impacted by pediatric cancer so they can be present for their children where they're needed most.
